FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you can't find the answer to your question below then please don't hesitate to call the maze hotline 07709 339490 or email maze@gregorysfarm.co.uk .

Do we need to book tickets?

No just turn up at the maize maze on the day and purchase your tickets at the entrance.  If you are a large group or want a party package then please book in advance.

Is there a group rate?

Yes groups of 15 or more qualify for the group rate – check out the latest rates on the admission page

What is included in the ticket price?

All activities on site are included in the entrance price with the exception of the Brimstage Gem Mine for which a charge of £1 per bag of mining rough is payable.  Whilst we endeavour to ensure all areas of the attraction are operational we do reserve the right to change or close areas if necessary.

What age is a child?

For the purpose of ticketing, a child ticket is valid for ages 3 to 13 years.  Children under 3 are admitted free of charge.  All children 13 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.  Youths age 14 and over do not require adult supervision.

I don’t want to do the maize maze can I come in for free and just let the children do the maze?

No.  Children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adults at all times. The maze is designed as a family attraction, the maze itself takes about 1 – 1,5 hours to complete, it can be daunting for children on there own.  All activities and facilities are included in the entrance price.

Why is the maze not open all year?

The maze is created in an annual crop of maize (hence the name maize maze!).  Maize is similar to sweetcorn, it is planted each spring and harvested in the autumn to provide winter food for our dairy cows.  Each spring we get to create a unique design in the new growing crop for you to enjoy.

How long will it take to complete the maize maze?

The main maize maze takes about 1-2 hours to complete, it depends on how lost you get!  However, at Brimstage Maize Maze we have much more than just the maze.  There are a great range of puzzles, games and activities both indoors and outdoors as well as plenty of picnic benches to sit back and relax whilst the kids play.  Probably allow at least three hours for your visit, many people bring a picnic and stay all day!

Can we leave the maize maze and come back later?

Each visitor is given a wristband that allows them to come and go during the day of purchase.  This means you can go for a wander round the retail outlets at Brimstage Hall Courtyard and come back again. If you want to come back another day why not consider the family season pass?

Is it just for kids?

No!  Whilst the attraction makes a great day out for families with kids, it is also a great challenge for adults.  Whether that be a couples first date or a WI walking group.  We often find the adults get far more competitive about the experience than the children!

Can we bring a picnic?

Yes. We do offer light refreshments on site, but picnics are also permitted, we do ask that you take any litter home or place in the bins provided.

Can I bring the dog?

No. In order to keep the attraction safe and hygienic for all our visitors we do not permit dogs (except guide dogs).  The car park is not particularly shaded so we would suggest it would be kinder to leave the dog at home.

Can we book a private event?

Yes.  The maize maze and facilities can be booked for private functions at times when we are not open.  During the evenings in the summer and weekdays during September.  The September  week night evenings are particularly suitable for cub scout or brownie guide groups.

Do you have toilets in the maze?

We do not have a toilet actually in the maze itself, however we do have facilities on site, we recommend visiting these prior to entry into the maze as you may be in there sometime!

What if I want to get out of the maze?

We have maize masters on look out at all times.  Should you wish to leave the maze or require assistance of any sort, stand still and wave your flag that you’re given on entry to the maze and the maze master will come to your assistance.

Can I smoke in the maze?

No.  The maze, barn and picnic area are smoke free areas.  You can smoke in the car park.

Is car parking free?

Yes.  We have plenty of free car parking space, much of which is on hard standing.  On particularly busy days it may be necessary to park on grass.

We are coming on a coach, is that ok?

Yes, but please call in advance so we can confirm your group discount and advise you of the best route and parking location.

What should I wear?

Please wear shoes that you are comfortable walking in and do not mind if they get a bit dirty!  The maize maze is part of a working field so the ground is uneven in places, the paths are compacted earth so in wet weather can get wet and slippy. In very dry weather they can be dusty. Wear clothing suitable for the weather conditions, a sun hat and sun cream are advisable in warm weather with a waterproof jacket and brolly so you’re ready for anything a British summer can throw at you!

I still have a question I want answering!

Please don't hesitate to call the maze hotline or email maze@gregorysfarm.co.uk and we will endeavour to answer any other questions.
